Tile Adhesive

As the name says it all, this kind of adhesive is used for external and internal fixing of ceramic tiles. This adhesive is made of polymers and special powders. The main qualities are the excellent adhesion and the very low shrinkage. They are very durable and of course, resistant to humidity. You can use it at the installation of ceramic tiles, marble, granite or slate. You can also use for wall cladding or for installation of stones. Another advantage of this kind of adhesives is that, the tile adhesive can be used both inside and outside, and on a variety of surfaces. For both walls and floors, tile adhesive is perfect.

The composition is very complex, and includes liquid polymer and different adhesive powders, which combined, become a paste. This paste can then be applied on different surfaces. Depending on the temperature of the house and the surface you apply it on, this type of adhesive can dry very fast. If you have the recommended temperature and you apply it right, you can even use the floor after 48 hours from the application. Because of the low shrinkage rate and the perfect bonding, this adhesive can be used for very difficult surfaces. It is also very durable, and high resistant to vibration, impact and dense temperature changes.

Using the tile adhesive you can fix ceramic tiles on prefabricated panels, on floors or on pre-cast concrete walls and rendered brickwork. So, you can use tile adhesive in the swimming pools, on concrete and fiber-cement, on every floor including under heated ones, on facades, balconies or terraces. Also, if you search for an adhesive to use on chemical resistant and hygiene areas, tile adhesive is quite perfect.

This adhesive is applied with a trowel. This is necessary to develop an elastic membrane. This membrane should stop any existing hairline cracks in the surface you apply it on. When applying this adhesive, also remember that the render coats must be of about 10mm. on floors it should be approximately 25mm in bed thickness. Also, apply it only when the screed or the render is dry enough. The surface should be dry, free from dust and clean. There shouldn’t be any substance such as oil, wax, and other different materials. So make sure you remove any undesired materials. If the surface is cleaned thoroughly and dry enough, then the tile adhesive should work perfectly.
